00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:02.979
You can do anything you want to once you decide what it is.

00:00:03.009 --> 00:00:05.080
And that was like to get clarity on these things though.

00:00:05.360 --> 00:00:08.210
I mean, I had to be very intentional with what it is that I wanted.

00:00:08.210 --> 00:00:15.279
So, um, not just with the vision board, like I, I would, I journal all the time and I would write things down all the time.

00:00:15.289 --> 00:00:18.059
Like I want to do, you know, this is what I really want to do.

00:00:18.260 --> 00:00:19.719
And I would just make a story out of it.

00:00:19.719 --> 00:00:20.859
I would make a narrative.

00:00:22.024 --> 00:00:22.605
out of that.

00:00:22.864 --> 00:00:29.105
You know, I would journal these things, um, all the time about, you know, how it's going to be an author and travel the world and do book signings.

00:00:29.105 --> 00:00:35.935
And again, you know, this is part of like visualizing the thing that you really want, but that's what you had to, uh, to do to get clarity on it.

00:00:36.484 --> 00:00:38.935
Um, and you have to spend time with yourself, right?

00:00:38.935 --> 00:00:41.909
You really have to, you know, sit down and think about these things.

00:00:51.810 --> 00:01:03.210
Welcome to The Wayfinder Show with Luis Hernandez, where guests discuss the why and how of making changes that led them down a more authentic path or allow them to level up in some area of their life.

Welcome back to the way finder show.

00:01:26.868 --> 00:01:28.498
This is your host, Louie Hernandez.

00:01:28.498 --> 00:01:30.319
And today I'm here with Scott Allen.

00:01:30.728 --> 00:01:42.638
Scott Allen is the author of multiple bestselling books, including do the hard things first undefeated and empower your thoughts as a former corporate business trainer in Japan for over 20 years.

00:01:42.828 --> 00:01:43.948
He has invested.

00:01:44.248 --> 00:01:52.429
Over 10, 000 hours of practice and research and confidence development, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindset optimization.

00:01:52.959 --> 00:01:58.959
Scott is passionate about teaching, building life skills, and inspiring others to take charge of their lives.

00:01:59.349 --> 00:02:00.899
Scott, welcome to the wayfinder show.

00:02:02.019 --> 00:02:02.819
Oh, it's great to be here.

00:02:02.819 --> 00:02:03.849
Thanks for having me on the show.

00:02:04.539 --> 00:02:05.409
Thank you for being here.

00:02:05.418 --> 00:02:10.718
You, you, you write and teach about our favorite subjects to talk about really.

00:02:10.718 --> 00:02:17.158
So this is going to be a fun conversation, you know, but before we get into all of that, could you tell the folks a little bit about yourself?

00:02:17.199 --> 00:02:23.588
You know, I'm a particular, I know you're not originally from Japan, so I'd love for you to talk a little bit how you got there.

00:02:25.693 --> 00:02:26.234
Sure thing.

00:02:26.234 --> 00:02:30.123
So yes, I've been living in Japan for about 27 years.

00:02:30.133 --> 00:02:42.394
So it's been a little while and I'm originally from Canada and I moved here way back in 98 after I was going through a period in my life where I was just going through some changes.

00:02:42.813 --> 00:02:47.680
And a friend of mine had given me a book by Tony Robbins called The Wick and the Giant Within.

00:02:47.680 --> 00:02:49.734
He was one of my mentors, actually.

00:02:49.764 --> 00:02:50.748
And he said, you have to read it.

00:02:51.419 --> 00:02:52.218
read this book.

00:02:52.218 --> 00:03:09.199
He knew that I was going through, uh, you know, just a period in my life where I, I, I had this feeling that I had to change the way things were, the way that I was living, and I wanted to do something that I'd never done before, you know, something exciting, fun, adventurous.

00:03:09.739 --> 00:03:13.998
So I read Tony's book, I put together A list of goals for myself.

00:03:14.088 --> 00:03:23.938
I created a vision board from, uh, the advice in the book, and within a week or two, I had transformed my apartment into one big vision board.

00:03:23.998 --> 00:03:34.778
And on the vision board I had images of all the places I wanted to go and I had positivity quotes everywhere and, uh, you know, a list of my goals.

00:03:34.778 --> 00:03:37.169
And so I just was basically.

00:03:37.454 --> 00:03:41.343
Building the life that I wanted to create for myself.

00:03:41.813 --> 00:03:42.713
So that was really exciting.

00:03:42.713 --> 00:03:44.723
You know, I'd never done anything like that before.

00:03:45.524 --> 00:03:50.653
And one of the things, uh, one of my goals was actually, well, I had three goals.

00:03:50.653 --> 00:03:54.204
One of them was to become a, an author, which eventually happened.

00:03:54.854 --> 00:03:57.644
And the other one was I wanted to travel the world.

00:03:57.653 --> 00:04:10.308
So I made a decision that a year from that date, maybe this was back in 97, I said, okay, one year from now, I'm going to move to, and I didn't have Japan on the radar at the time, that came a little bit later.

00:04:10.919 --> 00:04:16.468
I think my plan was just to move to Thailand or Asia and start something new.

00:04:16.468 --> 00:04:31.468
I wasn't sure what it was, but I was just going to get on a plane on this date and So a few months later, I was browsing through the newspaper and came across an ad that, uh, said, teach English in Japan, apply now.

00:04:31.798 --> 00:04:33.119
And I thought that's a great idea.

00:04:33.129 --> 00:04:34.569
So that's exactly what I did.

00:04:34.579 --> 00:04:37.649
Sent in a resume with a really nice cover letter.

00:04:37.709 --> 00:04:43.559
And, uh, this company got back to me within about a month, I think, and they invited me for an interview.

00:04:44.149 --> 00:04:54.269
So next thing I knew I was in downtown Vancouver in a uh, having a business lunch with the, you know, Japanese businessman who owned these, uh, business schools in Japan.

00:04:54.288 --> 00:05:03.019
And, um, yeah, they ended up hiring me, uh, brought me over to Japan and, uh, set me up in a homestay and gave me a car to drive.

00:05:03.019 --> 00:05:06.718
And, you know, I had, uh, cash in my pocket and I just thought it was great.

00:05:06.718 --> 00:05:09.819
And I was living this dream life that I never imagined.

00:05:09.848 --> 00:05:14.619
Yes, I went to, you know, Kyoto and, uh, I was living in, so I live in this city called Yokohama.

00:05:14.619 --> 00:05:17.278
It's just outside of Kobe and ended up traveling all over.

00:05:17.634 --> 00:05:20.663
for the country and then traveling to other countries.

00:05:20.663 --> 00:05:26.473
And of course I stayed here, which was another journey in and of itself, you know, just getting visas and all those things.

00:05:26.483 --> 00:05:34.723
So there's always these obstacles that I, you know, had to go through to, in order to stay here and maintain my lifestyle, but, uh, it all worked out.

00:05:36.553 --> 00:05:43.853
You know, and, uh, yeah, like I said, I've been here for almost half my life now, so, and, uh, continue to, um, live the dream, I think.

00:05:43.853 --> 00:05:47.754
And that's what I love to teach about in, in the material I write and everything.

00:05:47.754 --> 00:05:52.624
It's all about, uh, you know, building that, uh, life of greatness.

00:05:52.624 --> 00:06:01.524
And not all the books are about that, but that's really the core concept behind everything that I teach is, uh, you know, how to use magic to create the life that you want.

00:06:02.363 --> 00:06:02.814
Hmm.

00:06:04.244 --> 00:06:06.584
You know, I, or how I like to frame it, you know, building.

00:06:07.584 --> 00:06:07.963
Yeah.

00:06:07.963 --> 00:06:08.194
Yeah.

00:06:08.274 --> 00:06:08.663
Yeah.

00:06:09.449 --> 00:06:16.759
Um, you know, I, our listeners know that I went to Japan earlier in 24 and I absolutely fell in love with it.

00:06:16.759 --> 00:06:22.149
And we were talking before the show about, about, uh, that's something we, we may do as well.

00:06:22.199 --> 00:06:27.408
It's just a magical place, but let's go back to the part where you were doing the vision board.

00:06:27.428 --> 00:06:32.348
You said you, you turned, uh, your apartment into a big vision board.

00:06:34.533 --> 00:06:43.634
There is, there is something, I've done this a few times in my life and I've done it with, you know, agent who worked for me and such and, and, uh, there's something very exciting about that, right?

00:06:43.684 --> 00:06:46.723
Like, it's just, as you start to do it, it's very difficult to start.

00:06:46.733 --> 00:06:52.634
Sometimes it's almost scary, but then when you get started, there's some excitement that builds, right?

00:06:52.684 --> 00:06:56.723
And, and you start to dream and, and, and it just becomes a lot of fun, right?

00:06:56.783 --> 00:06:58.963
I mean, what do you think it is about that?

00:06:58.963 --> 00:06:59.494
Yeah.

00:06:59.494 --> 00:06:59.733
Yeah.

00:06:59.803 --> 00:07:00.264
Process.

00:07:00.738 --> 00:07:07.889
I think there's a, um, there's an inner power that you tap into when you put something like that together.

00:07:08.579 --> 00:07:13.848
Because I truly believe, you know, I started to dive a little bit into neuroscience, you know, in the last year or two.

00:07:13.848 --> 00:07:17.218
I'm not an expert in the subject, but I'm learning a lot from this.

00:07:18.369 --> 00:07:44.228
Something I've learned about just studying about the quantum field and neuroscience and Scientology is that uh, When you start to you know, build a vision for your life and you focus on this thing every day So like that's what a vision board really is is it was a vision for the life that I want to create inside my mind And then I just, you know, externally, I, you know, put that onto a, uh, piece of paper and I just, and so every day it's right there.

00:07:44.509 --> 00:08:03.653
And that's the thing, it's like, the things that you talk about, the things that you look at, everything you think about, all of these things, it starts to, um, You know, rewire your brain really, you know, and I was coming from a place of, uh, you know, before that I had a life of where I was partying all the time and I was just like, that's all I really wanted to do with my life.

00:08:03.733 --> 00:08:13.074
And so I believe that whatever you want, uh, and not just that I believe it, I've proven it that whatever you want, the universe is going to give it back to you.

00:08:13.303 --> 00:08:35.394
So when I was out there partying and drinking, doing all the, you know, having this, uh, chaotic lifestyle, I wanted that and I got that, you know, and then when I didn't want it I ended up leaving that behind pursuing something greater and that was where the I got more into the self help and personal development and then dream board came from that and then I realized, Oh, I actually want something, you know, greater for myself.

00:08:35.394 --> 00:08:37.354
And that was when I put the board together.

00:08:37.563 --> 00:08:38.303
I started thinking.

00:08:39.634 --> 00:08:57.703
Thinking about that every day and seeing that every day and then, um, part of it is as well as like I would go to the library or the bookstore and I would take out books on, you know, how to speak Thai or Vietnamese and I would get these language books and bring them home and I started reading them and my roommates would be like, what are you doing?

00:08:57.703 --> 00:09:01.693
I'm like, Oh, well, I'm leaving for Southeast Asia next, uh, next year.

00:09:01.693 --> 00:09:02.874
So I've got to prepare.

00:09:03.214 --> 00:09:05.734
And they thought I was, uh, you know, joking, of course.

00:09:06.283 --> 00:09:13.163
But that's the thing is like, I was building that life before I even had it, you know, and that was the vision board was a big part of that.

00:09:13.163 --> 00:09:19.403
It was like a construct of everything that I wanted to, you know, the life that I wanted to be living in the future was right there.

00:09:19.403 --> 00:09:25.464
So, yeah, I think that it really, really rewires your brain in a way that, uh, it starts to make things happen.

00:09:25.464 --> 00:09:27.323
So here's what happened after making the vision board.

00:09:27.323 --> 00:09:32.933
Well, three months later, I came across the opportunity to apply for a job in Japan.

00:09:32.964 --> 00:09:35.813
And then I kept meeting other people who.

00:09:36.734 --> 00:09:39.094
had been overseas and they had traveled around the world.

00:09:39.094 --> 00:09:45.859
So, there were these, uh, um, synchronicities that started popping up all over the place.

00:09:45.879 --> 00:09:50.749
And once I realized that, there's like, there's a couple, there's a few things happening here.

00:09:50.759 --> 00:09:57.808
There was, um, you know, I was preparing myself for future events, but there's also the power of belief.

00:09:57.828 --> 00:10:00.928
Like I believed, no matter what, that this was going to happen.

00:10:01.369 --> 00:10:06.249
And so I never, there might've been a few moments where I kind of had some self doubt, you know, is this really going to happen?

00:10:06.259 --> 00:10:07.288
You know, I don't really have enough.

00:10:07.428 --> 00:10:08.269
I don't even have the money.

00:10:08.769 --> 00:10:23.989
I didn't have enough money for the plane ticket and things like that, but none of that mattered because I wasn't focused on, uh, the outcome, you know, like, uh, just thinking about, um, I was just thinking about the next step, you know, like, how am I going to get to the next step so I can eventually get to the airport, get to the airplane.

00:10:23.989 --> 00:10:33.379
So all these things, you know, I was kind of going through the steps and everything, but of course, once I had the job set up in Japan, then it was just, it was gravy after that because the company had set up everything.

00:10:33.379 --> 00:10:41.818
And it's like, once that was, uh, a, you know, uh, Definitive, um, um, action that's going to take place in the future.

00:10:41.818 --> 00:10:44.639
Then that just, um, added more fuel to the fire.

00:10:44.649 --> 00:10:50.849
But again, it all came back from reading that book, taking action, which is the other piece of the puzzle, like you have to.

00:10:51.813 --> 00:10:52.504
Take action.

00:10:52.504 --> 00:10:54.984
You have to believe no matter what that is going to happen.

00:10:55.403 --> 00:11:03.354
And then everything that you, you know, all of my thoughts, everything, they were just aligning with all of these, like this, uh, vision that I really wanted.

00:11:03.354 --> 00:11:12.298
So, um, part of that was just, you know, and I started to, Visualize myself, visit, like going to these other cultures and interacting with other people.

00:11:12.298 --> 00:11:14.739
So I got into, um, I didn't realize it at the time.

00:11:14.739 --> 00:11:18.389
It was called, you know, like visual meditation is really what I was practicing.

00:11:18.389 --> 00:11:20.229
And everybody has this power.

00:11:20.229 --> 00:11:25.688
I mean, anybody can sit down and, you know, we all know about meditation and maybe not everybody does it.

00:11:25.698 --> 00:11:29.599
But when you are thinking about something with intention.

00:11:31.693 --> 00:11:35.313
Uh, you bring attention to the things that you want to bring into your life.

00:11:35.364 --> 00:11:39.193
Like you manifest everything that, um, you truly want.

00:11:39.413 --> 00:11:49.933
And this is the, the power of the brain is that, um, you know, that same, the same brain that puts these obstacles in our path and holds us back and, uh, Gives us the things that we don't want.

00:11:49.953 --> 00:11:52.923
Well, it's the same power that can give you everything you do want, right?

00:11:53.244 --> 00:11:55.163
And you realize, like, you are the power, right?

00:11:55.163 --> 00:11:57.094
It's not just the, uh, thoughts that are powerful.

00:11:57.094 --> 00:12:02.953
It's that, um, I may be quoting something I think that I read in The Secret, but it's like, we are powerful.

00:12:04.614 --> 00:12:09.884
So, uh, I just lean right in to all those, you know, all those ideas and beliefs.

00:12:10.683 --> 00:12:11.033
Yeah.

00:12:11.854 --> 00:12:12.073
Yeah.

00:12:12.073 --> 00:12:25.764
You know, it's, um, uh, I'm also big into self help, uh, type, uh, studies and, and, you know, some after a while it all started to certain principles that, uh, are, are all the same.

00:12:25.764 --> 00:12:26.024
Right.

00:12:26.024 --> 00:12:32.984
And, and amongst them are, you know, visualization and affirmations that the dream board is a, is a version of that.

00:12:32.984 --> 00:12:33.183
Right.

00:12:33.183 --> 00:12:39.658
It's just probably with a longer term outlook and maybe more, um, you know, Well, visual.

00:12:40.219 --> 00:12:42.969
Um, you're actually creating it right there.

00:12:43.438 --> 00:12:46.369
Uh, I mean, I just think there's a reason.

00:12:46.469 --> 00:12:51.129
It sounds kind of woo woo, but clearly you are, there's a reason why it works.

00:12:51.239 --> 00:12:57.969
No matter what, um, you know, what you, what spiritual practice you believe in or whatever.

00:12:57.969 --> 00:13:03.198
They all preach the same thing, uh, about these practices and how, how they work.

00:13:03.198 --> 00:13:05.889
And so it seems magical, but it works, right?

00:13:07.729 --> 00:13:08.028
Yeah.

00:13:08.298 --> 00:13:08.528
Yeah.

00:13:08.668 --> 00:13:09.379
Well, there's another thing too.

00:13:09.489 --> 00:13:11.278
And you know, people don't have to make a vision board.

00:13:11.278 --> 00:13:14.979
You can, it doesn't matter if it's a vision board or if you're journaling things down.

00:13:14.979 --> 00:13:17.458
I journal things down all the time and that's something you can do too.

00:13:17.458 --> 00:13:23.644
You can just write everything down in a journal, a notebook, whatever it is, but it's important to, to make a vision board.

00:13:23.844 --> 00:13:28.354
You get it out of your head and onto paper or, you know, onto a wall.

00:13:28.783 --> 00:13:30.124
I mean, you can use software for it.

00:13:30.124 --> 00:13:33.403
It doesn't matter as long as you're clear on what your intention is.

00:13:33.423 --> 00:13:36.153
Like, what is it that you want to create?

00:13:36.153 --> 00:13:38.384
What is it that you want to see in your life?

00:13:38.874 --> 00:13:41.923
And I think a lot of people, when they think, Oh, that's woo.

00:13:41.943 --> 00:13:42.594
I don't believe it.

00:13:43.153 --> 00:13:43.663
That's fine.

00:13:43.663 --> 00:13:48.433
But, uh, if you're stuck in a place in your life where you're not moving forward, you want something.

00:13:49.028 --> 00:13:50.729
Greater than what you have right now.

00:13:50.729 --> 00:13:53.078
And I honestly think most people want that.

00:13:53.619 --> 00:13:56.678
Um, they need to practice something that's different because.

00:13:57.208 --> 00:14:02.379
If you, uh, if you don't believe that, uh, there is something greater out there that you could achieve or have or be.

00:14:02.769 --> 00:14:07.958
And I think B is the key, uh, key point there, then you're not going to move forward.

00:14:07.958 --> 00:14:09.239
You're not going to have that.

00:14:10.149 --> 00:14:21.198
You know, so, and there are a lot of people out there that don't believe it can happen for them just because, uh, well, they're believing in those thoughts, you know, um, we really do have to rewire our own minds, you know, and we have the power to do that.

00:14:21.208 --> 00:14:27.259
So, and I forget that sometimes too, where I've is where, you know, I don't, um, yeah, look at my vision board.

00:14:27.259 --> 00:14:30.249
I don't want to think about, uh, my greater self.

00:14:30.249 --> 00:14:33.649
I just want to, sometimes I'll just stay, you know, you know, stuck in my problems.

00:14:33.899 --> 00:14:35.229
You know, I'll just focus on that.

00:14:35.568 --> 00:14:36.788
And then I'm focusing on.

00:14:36.989 --> 00:14:41.639
The lack of everything I don't have, then I'm lost in my own scarcity mindset.

00:14:41.969 --> 00:14:48.288
Well, when you focus on lack, you get more of that, you know, and I, this is a constant reminder for me as well.

00:14:48.288 --> 00:14:56.889
And I'm sure for a lot of people that, you know, even though, um, you may achieve a certain level, you still have to keep working at it no matter what, you know, so.

00:14:57.433 --> 00:14:58.384
Yeah, totally.

00:14:58.903 --> 00:15:02.833
So, is that what you talk about in, in your book, uh, Relaunch Your Life?

00:15:04.774 --> 00:15:08.344
To a certain extent, but not really, I didn't really go into it in great detail.

00:15:08.344 --> 00:15:15.234
I'm actually, um, everything that I'm talking about now, a lot of the things, uh, appeared sporadically in several of the books.

00:15:15.644 --> 00:15:23.494
So, I'm writing a new book right now that is more in align with, uh, you know, building your great life actually.

00:15:23.984 --> 00:15:31.953
And, uh, I'm going to be putting more of these, but I'm going to, so I have a bits and pieces of these things all over the place, you know, in, in various books and blog posts and stuff like that.

00:15:31.974 --> 00:15:47.053
And on, um, you know, in other, uh, interviews, I talk about this a lot as well, but relaunch your life was really about how to break your negative behavior and, um, yeah, rewiring your mindset and overcoming, you know, your fearful mind, your scarcity mindset.

00:15:47.073 --> 00:15:51.644
And, uh, once you overcome those, uh, and my mindset is really just your way of thinking.

00:15:51.644 --> 00:15:51.864
Right.

00:15:51.864 --> 00:15:54.494
So that's really what the book is focused on is how to.

00:15:54.778 --> 00:15:57.048
Relaunch your life and, uh, yeah, start something new.

00:15:57.048 --> 00:16:02.089
But yeah, there's, uh, certainly a, uh, newer version of that book that I think I, I could put together.

00:16:02.089 --> 00:16:12.639
So that book came out five or six years ago and, you know, we, you know, as an author and as a creator, you know, and, and I think is, For all of us as human beings, we're evolving all the time.

00:16:12.649 --> 00:16:17.229
So, you know, your ideas change, your concepts change, uh, your perception changes.

00:16:17.688 --> 00:16:22.399
So as it changes, I need to create a new material to reflect that as well.

00:16:22.918 --> 00:16:29.719
But relaunch your life is a very important book that I wrote, um, you know, back just, I think it was just after my father had passed away.

00:16:29.719 --> 00:16:34.609
And, uh, you know, he knew that I was putting these books together and everything I was working on the book at that time.

00:16:35.203 --> 00:16:40.333
So, um, after he had passed away, you know, one of the things he had said to me is like, you know, you have to keep going at this thing.

00:16:40.333 --> 00:16:45.524
And, uh, and so when I finished that book, it was more like a dedication to, uh, to his life.

00:16:45.524 --> 00:16:50.394
So it has a lot of, uh, I think personal, uh, meaning to me anyway.

00:16:50.403 --> 00:16:53.033
So, uh, yeah, it is actually one of my favorite books.

00:16:53.094 --> 00:16:54.014
So, Oh, wow.

00:16:54.083 --> 00:16:54.413
Nice.

00:16:55.024 --> 00:16:58.134
So, You know, when, when you're in a dark place, right.

00:16:58.144 --> 00:17:08.394
And all you can think about is, you know, there, uh, there's a saying, I think that there's, when you're in a dark place, something like, uh, there's not a, a solution that you can't find a problem to, right.

00:17:08.953 --> 00:17:14.903
Uh, I've heard say before, um, and that, that seems to be, I know I've been there at times, sometimes I still go there.

00:17:15.433 --> 00:17:17.753
What are some strategies for breaking out of that?

00:17:18.753 --> 00:17:19.913
That's a great question.

00:17:21.814 --> 00:17:27.523
Well, here's what I think about the dark place or the darkness is that when we're there, when we're going through hard times and.

00:17:29.183 --> 00:17:36.653
And sometimes, I mean, that dark place is just, that's the place in your mind where, you know, you can't see beyond that at times.

00:17:36.683 --> 00:17:39.824
And honestly, I think it's actually good to spend time there.

00:17:39.844 --> 00:17:43.324
You know, I think it's a good thing to spend time in that dark place.

00:17:43.334 --> 00:17:46.894
To be looking at the things that you're afraid to look at.

00:17:46.903 --> 00:17:49.584
To be looking at the side of yourself that you're afraid to look at.

00:17:49.834 --> 00:17:52.263
And I think, um, to your point, you know, like, how do we break out of that?

00:17:52.979 --> 00:17:56.798
Um, I would also question like, like, should we be breaking out of that right away?

00:17:56.798 --> 00:18:16.858
I think it's good to actually spend some time there because, uh, when we're in that dark place or we're, let's just say we're going through a hard time, you know, and this could be, Yeah, um, maybe you just lost your job, you know, you ended a relationship or you're going through depression or something, whatever it is, and you're just in this space where you want to escape from that.

00:18:16.909 --> 00:18:17.759
And we all want that.

00:18:17.759 --> 00:18:25.463
I mean, when we're going through a hard time, we want to, you know, we don't just want to, of course, you know, sit there and go through it, but I think that's an important thing to do.

00:18:26.243 --> 00:18:31.183
do because we're forced to, uh, face something that we normally wouldn't face.

00:18:31.193 --> 00:18:36.933
So first of all, don't think that you have to look for some kind of a, you know, a doorway right away.

00:18:36.933 --> 00:18:48.429
You might have to stay there for a little bit, but in order to move past that, you need to look From what happens with, you know, a lot of people as we focus on the problem.

00:18:48.669 --> 00:18:56.538
So let's just say, for example, that, um, you know, you, um, you just lost all your money or you went bankrupt or, you know, you're having a hard time financially.

00:18:56.969 --> 00:18:59.868
A lot of people, like, that's a dark space for a lot of people.

00:18:59.939 --> 00:19:02.798
Um, you know, of course, we'd rather have more money.

00:19:02.798 --> 00:19:05.499
We want to be more abundant and, uh, thriving more.

00:19:06.038 --> 00:19:10.308
But when you're in that space, you're just, you know, I am anyway, I'm focusing on the problem.

00:19:10.598 --> 00:19:10.769
Right.

00:19:10.769 --> 00:19:12.038
Oh, I don't have enough money.

00:19:12.048 --> 00:19:13.358
Money doesn't grow on tree.

00:19:13.374 --> 00:19:19.784
I'm lacking everything and that becomes my dark place.

00:19:19.804 --> 00:19:21.253
That doesn't mean the world is a dark place.

00:19:21.263 --> 00:19:30.864
It just means that, uh, my mind in that, in that moment or that period, you know, I've turned it into my dark place because of my thoughts are focusing on the problem.

00:19:30.864 --> 00:19:36.023
So I really, so I think you really need to, um, do a mindset shift there, right?

00:19:36.263 --> 00:19:39.023
Where, uh, in that case, you know, I turn from.

00:19:39.513 --> 00:19:40.614
What is the opposite of lack?

00:19:40.624 --> 00:19:42.644
It's gratitude or it's abundance, right?

00:19:42.644 --> 00:19:45.814
So I start to focus on the things that I have in my life.

00:19:46.114 --> 00:19:54.423
I'm sure, okay, I don't have the million dollars in my bank account that I want and it's not going to show up there because I'm focused on, you know, the lack of everything that I, that I don't have.

00:19:54.423 --> 00:19:59.663
So I need to start focusing on, uh, It's not a material thing either.

00:19:59.673 --> 00:20:03.923
It's not like a, okay, well, I want to have be driving on a fancy car and be living in a greater, bigger house.

00:20:03.933 --> 00:20:06.193
So I'm just going to think about those things that are going to materialize.

00:20:06.644 --> 00:20:08.374
I don't really believe in that.

00:20:08.394 --> 00:20:15.223
I mean, and although, you know, I could say like, yeah, if you think about, you want those things, you want those things, you'll always, you'll, you're just going to create more of the wanting it.

00:20:17.423 --> 00:20:17.773
Right.

00:20:18.044 --> 00:20:19.403
Doesn't mean those things are going to show up.

00:20:19.923 --> 00:20:27.584
So you really need to lean harder into the thoughts you're having around, you know, shifting from focusing on that lack to abundance and gratitude.

00:20:27.804 --> 00:20:29.094
And I think it begins with gratitude.

00:20:29.094 --> 00:20:36.564
Gratitude for me is like one of the number, the number one practice every day, you know, and here's what happens in the morning to a lot of people wake up myself included.

00:20:36.894 --> 00:20:41.743
First thing I think about a lot of mornings is the thought is right there and you latch onto it.

00:20:41.743 --> 00:20:42.463
And the thought is.

00:20:43.479 --> 00:20:45.019
You know, what's going to happen today.

00:20:45.169 --> 00:20:52.239
I don't, and some, somewhere it's like, I don't have enough of, and then it's like that one thought just grips me in the morning and then we build on it.

00:20:52.239 --> 00:20:53.278
We compound on it.

00:20:53.669 --> 00:20:57.459
And then half hour later, you're kind of lost in your negativity.

00:20:57.459 --> 00:20:59.868
And you're a lot of people like our day starts that day that way.

00:21:00.209 --> 00:21:02.028
So in the morning, it's really important.

00:21:02.028 --> 00:21:04.993
Actually, even before the morning, I'll, I'll jump into that in a minute.

00:21:04.993 --> 00:21:09.749
The night before I spend about 15 to 30 minutes doing some meditation.

00:21:09.999 --> 00:21:11.638
What am I doing during this meditation?

00:21:12.259 --> 00:21:15.439
I'm visualizing something amazing, like an amazing day.

00:21:15.808 --> 00:21:22.828
Um, you know, how do I want to be living my life, uh, like this week, this month, you know, who do I want to be talking to?

00:21:22.838 --> 00:21:28.259
You know, I visualize myself talking to people in my life that really matter, you know, the people I care about, the people I love.

00:21:28.858 --> 00:21:33.868
And then I'll write down the things in my journal that I'm gratified, I'm grateful for.

00:21:33.868 --> 00:21:44.513
So when you go to bed, you need to, um, prepare yourself so that, uh, you know, you have a good sleep, you wake up and then I have, uh, affirmations that I read in the morning as well.

00:21:44.844 --> 00:21:46.413
And, uh, you can get these anywhere.

00:21:46.413 --> 00:21:49.134
I mean, you can like, they're in books and they're on the internet there.

00:21:49.134 --> 00:21:50.683
You can make them up yourself, right?

00:21:50.683 --> 00:21:51.013
Yeah.

00:21:51.104 --> 00:21:55.144
But you really need to program your mind every day.

00:21:55.284 --> 00:22:02.513
And I have many days where I forget to do this, you know, like before I go to bed, I might, you know, maybe I'm not saying watching Netflix before bed is a bad thing, but you have a choice.

00:22:02.513 --> 00:22:04.594
Like if you are watching TV every night before bed.

00:22:05.463 --> 00:22:08.453
bed or the news or whatever, then boom, you turn it off, go right to bed.

00:22:09.523 --> 00:22:10.784
Your, your mind is at work all the time.

00:22:10.784 --> 00:22:15.173
And it's going to be, uh, you know, materializing the things that you were looking at just before you went to sleep.

00:22:15.183 --> 00:22:38.479
So I try to prepare myself for the next day, the night before, you know, um, in that way, you know, like when you wake up and, and, What I find in the first thing in the morning, I wake up, I have my multivitamins, I have some water, and then I spend 10 to 15 minutes of meditation practice just sitting down, getting control of my thoughts, and I can tell you, the rest of my day goes really well.

00:22:38.568 --> 00:22:40.068
On the days when I don't do that.

00:22:40.618 --> 00:22:41.648
it doesn't go as well.

00:22:41.699 --> 00:22:47.598
And I get attacked by all the, you know, the negativity and, and the lack and the scarcity mindset and all these things.

00:22:47.598 --> 00:22:51.548
Like it's a, it's a daily battle actually, but it's a battle worth fighting.

00:22:51.558 --> 00:22:52.808
And it doesn't have to be a battle.

00:22:52.828 --> 00:23:13.519
If you just take care of these things, like it's really actually easier than a lot of people think, you know, my vision boards up upstairs, I'll spend five, 10 minutes, uh, you know, in the morning looking at that again Afternoon, you know, I'm always adding, I still have a vision board to this day, you know, I, I got out of the practice for a long time and now I've got a new one and I keep adding to it all the time.

00:23:13.519 --> 00:23:22.128
So, I just, you know, you have to have these things forefront in your mind, always thinking about, uh, it's not just thinking about positive thinking and all that.

00:23:22.128 --> 00:23:27.013
I mean, yeah, that stuff's important, but you have to be, um, Uh, think with intention, right?

00:23:27.013 --> 00:23:35.223
So, uh, have those, uh, have those, you know, affirmations, be journaling about the things that you're really passionate about, you know, what is it you really want?

00:23:35.534 --> 00:23:40.824
And just be really intentional with, um, always reminding, we, we have to constantly remind ourselves of these things, right?

00:23:40.824 --> 00:23:49.074
It's not just a one off thing where, you know, and it's not, and again, it's not just about like, uh, you know, making a, a Christmas list where, you know, like, I want this, this, and this.

00:23:49.084 --> 00:23:53.888
It's like, if you really want something that matters, like focusing on, for me, I've always wanted to be, you know.

00:23:54.118 --> 00:23:54.439
author.

00:23:54.439 --> 00:23:57.558
That was my biggest dream was to be an author and write a bunch of books.

00:23:57.558 --> 00:24:05.078
And, and look, I mean, there was when I first started, I, I really struggled with the belief, like, you know, is it going to happen?

00:24:05.078 --> 00:24:05.788
Am I good enough?

00:24:05.788 --> 00:24:14.098
And, and when you let all those thoughts and beliefs, uh, kind of, you know, uh, break into your mind, then that holds you back from taking action.

00:24:14.108 --> 00:24:15.669
So I just put all that aside.

00:24:15.929 --> 00:24:19.808
I just focused on my one action for the day was to do some writing for one or two hours.

00:24:20.219 --> 00:24:21.999
And yes, I did that for a good many years.

00:24:22.713 --> 00:24:25.784
But that kept things moving forward, you know, that kept the dream alive.

00:24:25.784 --> 00:24:27.084
So, yeah.

00:24:27.544 --> 00:24:28.324
No, that's great.

00:24:28.814 --> 00:24:33.784
I, I think going back to the beginning of that with gratitude, I, I, I just think that's so important.

00:24:33.814 --> 00:24:40.973
And that, that one single practice alone is, is, um, so great for rewiring the brain, right?

00:24:41.054 --> 00:24:53.548
Um, I, you know, the way I make a living is selling real estate and I've had a team and, and we would start our morning meetings every day, a little huddle to just 10 minute meetings, but we'd all start going around just saying what we're grateful for.

00:24:54.019 --> 00:25:00.709
And I remember at the beginning, people having a hard time with that because we want to just talk about all the problems we have coming up, right?

00:25:00.709 --> 00:25:02.709
So we can just solve them right there and then we can go.

00:25:03.058 --> 00:25:08.249
But uh, it really grounds you, you know, just to be grateful for just a beautiful morning, right?

00:25:08.348 --> 00:25:17.038
Um, a great cup of coffee, anything, uh, the little things, you know, oftentimes it just, it just does wonders for you, for the way you think and everything.

00:25:17.038 --> 00:25:17.328
So.

00:25:17.828 --> 00:25:18.409
Yeah, it does.

00:25:18.409 --> 00:25:18.759
It does.

00:25:18.759 --> 00:25:18.979
Yeah.

00:25:18.979 --> 00:25:33.588
It doesn't have to be hard, you know, just, I think, um, a lot of people were afraid to spend time with ourselves, you know, as part of that, going back to the darkness, uh, we spend time with ourselves where I think, you know, and me too, I'm afraid of like, you know, what am I going to see?

00:25:33.588 --> 00:25:34.739
What am I going to think about?

00:25:35.159 --> 00:25:37.104
Oh, I've got all these, uh, you know, Yeah.

00:25:37.334 --> 00:25:43.153
It could be financial problems, health problems, whatever it is, but whatever the problem is, just like identify what it is.

00:25:43.584 --> 00:25:46.354
And then I write down the solution to that right away.

00:25:46.784 --> 00:25:47.913
Otherwise I just focus on.

00:25:47.913 --> 00:25:52.943
So again, just if I'm going back to, um, a financial situation, you're like, Oh, I'm in debt.

00:25:52.943 --> 00:25:54.074
I have no money and dah, dah, dah.

00:25:54.294 --> 00:25:56.653
And I'm just thinking about that all day long.

00:25:56.653 --> 00:25:57.903
You just get more of that.

00:25:57.913 --> 00:25:59.034
And then you're stressed out.

00:25:59.054 --> 00:26:00.834
And then, nothing comes of that.

00:26:00.834 --> 00:26:06.864
But if I'm looking at, okay, well, what if I did this, this, and this, and I started to turn things around.

00:26:07.384 --> 00:26:14.403
So you, you got to be more solution based, like, uh, going from, you know, focusing on the problem to right away, like, what are those solutions?

00:26:14.443 --> 00:26:16.193
And then that becomes your vision.

00:26:16.213 --> 00:26:23.894
You know, it becomes the thing you meditate on is the solution to, uh, you know, um, Solving your problems, solving your issues, right?

00:26:24.034 --> 00:26:25.374
I mean, we'll always have issues to solve.

00:26:25.394 --> 00:26:25.844
That's great.

00:26:25.844 --> 00:26:31.183
But once you figure out how to do it, you know, you've got, uh, that's the magic and that's the power, I think.

00:26:31.574 --> 00:26:32.013
Totally.

00:26:32.324 --> 00:26:34.959
You know, I think financial distress is, is big.

00:26:35.348 --> 00:26:40.058
Probably most unique in, uh, you know, I, I've been very fortunate in my life, right?

00:26:40.058 --> 00:26:46.969
Like I've had good health, good family, everything you could possibly ask for, uh, relationship wise, the whole nine.

00:26:47.288 --> 00:26:50.169
Financially though is where I've always kind of been up and down.

00:26:50.169 --> 00:26:52.759
It's been a roller coaster for me most of my life, really.

00:26:53.169 --> 00:27:02.138
And, and it's funny because in the times when I'm doing very well financially, I'm not often in doing any of the things.

00:27:02.598 --> 00:27:05.828
That I set out, you know, on my vision board, for example, right?

00:27:06.489 --> 00:27:10.659
And in this, I, you know, now I'm in my late 40s.

00:27:11.068 --> 00:27:14.888
Um, so in this season of my life, I stopped to look at and think about that.

00:27:14.888 --> 00:27:19.449
I'm like, I, I haven't done any of the things I wanted to do with traveling and, and such.

00:27:19.449 --> 00:27:23.939
Um, And because I always thought money was the obstacle.

00:27:23.939 --> 00:27:24.598
I didn't have it.

00:27:24.598 --> 00:27:29.249
I had to do more, you know, and, and, and, and then even when I did have it, I didn't do it anyways.

00:27:29.249 --> 00:27:38.858
So, about, you know, 10 years ago, we just started setting big dreams and going after them, regardless of the money, whether we have it or not.

00:27:39.229 --> 00:27:41.979
And somehow, we just Seem to accomplish them.

00:27:42.108 --> 00:27:42.759
You know what I mean?

00:27:42.769 --> 00:27:50.528
And uh, the world just provides for you the universe for so Tokyo was you know running the Tokyo Marathon was an example of that.

00:27:50.528 --> 00:28:12.374
That was my last world major I had set out a while back to go and run all the world majors I didn't know how I was even gonna afford to pay the race entries at times, you know and and then uh, and I have now and done many of races and all over the world and and And you know it it just It just happens, you know, and we're not in bigger debt for it or anything.

00:28:12.374 --> 00:28:16.183
I mean, it's just, uh, we, we somehow figure out how to do it.

00:28:16.193 --> 00:28:21.243
So I, I think we create these obstacles, especially financially, so many times.

00:28:21.243 --> 00:28:24.574
And I know people who do really well and then they're thinking, Oh, I don't have enough.

00:28:24.574 --> 00:28:25.794
I don't have enough in retirement.

00:28:25.794 --> 00:28:37.903
I don't have enough, uh, you know, for this or, uh, and I, I think that, It's, it's just such an obstacle we put in front of ourselves to keep us from doing the things we want to do, you know what I mean?

00:28:39.183 --> 00:28:39.713
Absolutely.

00:28:39.713 --> 00:28:40.304
I totally agree.

00:28:40.304 --> 00:28:41.094
I love that too.

00:28:41.094 --> 00:28:45.253
It's like, you know, um, you decide that thing that you want to do and you go and do it.

00:28:45.273 --> 00:28:48.913
And, um, yeah, for me, it was always the same thing.

00:28:49.453 --> 00:28:57.574
The thing about, uh, you know, we could talk for hours about money and I, and I really like, I struggled with the scarcity mindset my whole life.

00:28:57.604 --> 00:28:59.334
You're like, I was like just a life of lack.

00:28:59.344 --> 00:29:08.973
And yet when I had money or when I didn't have money, regardless, I still always took the trips I wanted to take, you know, whether I had to use a card or, or somehow the money was just always there.

00:29:08.973 --> 00:29:10.153
You know, it took my family too.

00:29:11.778 --> 00:29:12.818
You know, in Bali or wherever.

00:29:12.818 --> 00:29:15.328
It's like, it was like, once we decided we're going to do it.

00:29:15.759 --> 00:29:17.449
And sometimes we had to do it just to get away.

00:29:17.868 --> 00:29:19.019
Um, it was just there.

00:29:19.048 --> 00:29:22.269
I mean, and sometimes if it wasn't there, I'd find a way to get it, you know, so.

00:29:23.169 --> 00:29:25.429
Yeah, but, um, I was going to say something really important.

00:29:25.439 --> 00:29:31.959
Like, I was listening to a, uh, podcast interview recently with Dan Martell, who wrote Buy Back Your Time, and he was talking about this.

00:29:31.959 --> 00:29:39.614
And, uh, you know, he says, you know, If you focus on the cost of something like that becomes like, that's kind of like you're, you're focusing on the scarcity part of it.

00:29:39.614 --> 00:29:41.894
Like, oh, I don't have the money for this thing.

00:29:41.894 --> 00:29:48.084
You know, he's actually talking about a big trip he took with his whole family and it was really expensive and he paid for the whole thing.

00:29:48.084 --> 00:29:48.324
Right.

00:29:48.614 --> 00:29:53.453
But he says like, if there's the cost of this, but then there's how much is it worth to you?

00:29:53.463 --> 00:29:53.864
Right.

00:29:54.304 --> 00:29:59.953
So, um, you know, I went back to, I went to Canada, Hawaii this year and yes, those were very costly.

00:29:59.973 --> 00:30:00.284
Right.

00:30:00.294 --> 00:30:04.759
And, um, Uh, when I, you know, got the credit card bills, I was like, wow, okay.

00:30:04.759 --> 00:30:07.578
We spent a lot of money on these trips and I really focused on that.

00:30:07.578 --> 00:30:17.259
Like, it really, uh, dug into me, but then I realized, like after listening to Dan Martel, I was like, but those trips were so, like the w the, I could not, uh, take the worth of those trips.

00:30:17.259 --> 00:30:18.638
Like, they were just like with families.

00:30:18.638 --> 00:30:20.648
So like, I would not trade them for anything, right.

00:30:20.648 --> 00:30:21.669
They had to be done, you know?

00:30:21.669 --> 00:30:23.709
So yes, you've gotta measure the cost of something too.

00:30:24.138 --> 00:30:27.439
much is actually worth to you emotionally, to your family, to everything.

00:30:27.439 --> 00:30:32.368
And I realized, wow, like, I mean, I have the power to really like, like make as much money as I want to.

00:30:32.368 --> 00:30:35.888
And I think, again, that's like, people think they're limited, you know, like, oh, I have it.

00:30:35.888 --> 00:30:36.578
And I, I get it.

00:30:36.578 --> 00:30:37.959
Like people are maybe, maybe you're a paycheck.

00:30:38.989 --> 00:30:39.588
Check is fixed.

00:30:39.588 --> 00:30:48.398
Of course, you're working a job or whatever it is, you know, so there's certain and I'm not even saying those are limitations because I mean, you know, I back when I did have a job.

00:30:48.398 --> 00:30:48.638
Sure.

00:30:48.638 --> 00:30:49.989
I had a paycheck that was fixed.

00:30:49.989 --> 00:30:53.368
And so we had to learn, you know, we have, we do have to live within a certain budget, I think.

00:30:53.368 --> 00:31:04.898
But, um, you know, if I, uh, wanted more money and I wanted to manifest more of it, I realized, wow, I could just, uh, that's when I actually started putting the books together and realize, oh, I can create products in the marketplace.

00:31:04.909 --> 00:31:08.239
So I just, I learned the skill I needed to, in order to make that happen.

00:31:09.669 --> 00:31:29.239
And that's just another kind of like side note is that if you, you figure out what your goal is and you need to develop a skill in order to make it happen, well, you can go learn that skill, you know, whether it's building a Shopify store to sell products or whatever it is, and if you can't learn the skill, maybe you can, you know, You get some money together, you can hire somebody for it.

00:31:29.479 --> 00:31:35.409
But I think that's the, the, the obstacle there is that a lot of people don't actually know what they want yet.

00:31:35.439 --> 00:31:48.199
You know, in fact, probably 90 percent of people don't really know what they want, which is why they can't move forward with their, uh, you know, yeah, their goals in their life and they get stuck and then they get, uh, kind of, you know, fixed on just the problems and how dark everything is.

00:31:48.199 --> 00:31:52.199
And that's when we get stuck in the dark spot and we tend to stay there for just a very long time.

00:31:52.269 --> 00:31:52.598
Yeah.

00:31:52.669 --> 00:31:52.989
Yeah.

00:31:53.778 --> 00:31:54.028
Yeah.

00:31:54.028 --> 00:32:01.534
Talk about that part about, uh, You know, how you gain some of that clarity to figure out what you want, because I think you're right.

00:32:01.534 --> 00:32:06.354
We do get into a place sometimes in life where we just don't even know what we want anymore.

00:32:06.364 --> 00:32:09.884
And we start to question possibly our very existence, right?

00:32:10.584 --> 00:32:13.483
And how, how do we gain clarity in that?

00:32:14.564 --> 00:32:14.814
Yeah.

00:32:14.834 --> 00:32:16.394
What are some good exercises for that?

00:32:17.114 --> 00:32:19.163
Well, yeah.

00:32:19.163 --> 00:32:19.433
Yeah.

00:32:19.493 --> 00:32:28.503
So just going back to when I was in my 20s, I, so I went to, went to a university, got to, um, I got, uh, And as an electrical engineer.

00:32:28.534 --> 00:32:30.814
So that was, uh, that was actually going way back.

00:32:30.814 --> 00:32:32.824
You know, that was my profession at the time.

00:32:32.824 --> 00:32:38.844
And I think, um, even at the time, like I knew that I didn't, I wasn't going to pursue that career forever.

00:32:38.844 --> 00:32:45.193
Like I thought, okay, you know, I'm going to maybe do this for four or five or six years, even though put a lot of time and money into getting trained for it and everything.

00:32:45.193 --> 00:32:49.054
But I knew that it wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

00:32:49.094 --> 00:33:13.209
And, And here's the thing, like, my point to this is that a lot of people, you know, we get trained in something, we learn something, maybe at a young age or an older age, and we get locked into this thing, and we think that now, you know, now that I've been, you know, trained into doing this one skill, like, this is the thing I have to do for the rest of my life, so we just end up on this, you know, kind of like this one path where it's like, this is all I can do.

00:33:13.209 --> 00:33:14.278
And I hear this all the time from you.

00:33:14.278 --> 00:33:15.179
Oh, well, this is what I do.

00:33:15.179 --> 00:33:15.878
It's all I can do.

00:33:15.878 --> 00:33:17.179
I don't know how to do anything else.

00:33:17.618 --> 00:33:24.098
But when I decided to like, like move to Japan, for example, I mean, the company brought me over here to teach English.

00:33:24.118 --> 00:33:28.618
Now I do not have a background in education.

00:33:28.979 --> 00:33:29.269
Yes.

00:33:29.269 --> 00:33:31.009
I speak the language and that was all you needed.

00:33:31.009 --> 00:33:31.298
Really.

00:33:31.469 --> 00:33:34.469
You also need to have a, like a degree to get a visa and stuff like that.

00:33:34.499 --> 00:33:39.479
And, um, so, but the thing I didn't have any formal training, they brought me over here.

00:33:39.709 --> 00:33:42.009
They taught us the skill sets in order for.

00:33:42.159 --> 00:33:57.199
I still go out to companies to, you know, teach biggest business English and do presentations in these corporations, but that was the thing is like, you know, I changed my, uh, my profession from one to the other, that they were completely unrelated now with the, um, the books as well with publishing.

00:33:57.429 --> 00:34:03.769
I didn't know anything about publishing when I first started, started out, but I knew I wanted to do it and be successful at it.

00:34:03.848 --> 00:34:04.769
So I learned.

00:34:05.344 --> 00:34:06.824
That, that skill set as well.

00:34:07.233 --> 00:34:17.474
And that's the thing is that, um, you know, you can, and again, it comes back to rewiring your, your mindset and, uh, you know, realizing like you can do anything you want to once you decide what it is.

00:34:17.503 --> 00:34:19.583
And that was like to get clarity on these things though.

00:34:19.844 --> 00:34:22.704
I mean, I had to be very intentional with what it is that I wanted.

00:34:22.704 --> 00:34:25.293
So, um, not just with the vision board.

00:34:25.293 --> 00:34:26.403
Like I, I would, I.

00:34:27.054 --> 00:34:29.773
Journal all the time and I would write things down all the time.

00:34:29.784 --> 00:34:32.554
Like I want to do, you know, this is what I really want to do.

00:34:32.744 --> 00:34:34.213
And I would just make a story out of it.

00:34:34.213 --> 00:34:37.094
I would make a narrative out of that.

00:34:37.364 --> 00:34:43.594
You know, I would journal these things all the time about, you know, how it's going to be an author and travel the world and do book signings.

00:34:43.594 --> 00:34:50.414
And again, you know, this is part of like visualizing the thing that you really want, but that's what you have to do to get clarity on it.

00:34:51.023 --> 00:34:53.434
Um, and you have to spend time with yourself, right?

00:34:53.434 --> 00:34:56.403
You really have to, you know, sit down and think about these things.

00:34:56.403 --> 00:35:06.284
Cause I think what happens is that, um, at the end of the day, we come home, we're tired, you know, you, maybe you just, you just come home from your work and you want to chill out and just spend the rest of the evening, yeah, watching TV.

00:35:06.293 --> 00:35:13.753
And maybe you're spending time with family and these things, but, you know, you do have to take that time out for yourself to get really like make things.

00:35:15.278 --> 00:35:19.398
Ill and quiet, so that you can actually take the time to think about these things.

00:35:19.398 --> 00:35:27.958
And again, what happens with a lot of people is, when that, when we put ourselves in that situation, we start thinking about our problems and all the things we don't like, right?

00:35:28.318 --> 00:35:32.688
So now you've got to think about the things that you, you know, coming back to the gratitude.

00:35:32.688 --> 00:35:33.739
Okay, start with that.

00:35:33.798 --> 00:35:35.409
What are you grateful for now?

00:35:36.009 --> 00:35:42.018
How do you want to take this, uh, new power that you're developing and turn that into something that you really want?

00:35:42.358 --> 00:35:48.679
And again, this is hard for everybody because you might be in your 20s, 30s, 50s, you might be 80 years old.

00:35:48.858 --> 00:35:50.858
I believe this power exists for anybody.

00:35:50.858 --> 00:35:58.759
I've seen people in their 70s and their 80s turn things around and do things completely different, you know, so it, Not just possible.

00:35:58.759 --> 00:36:01.159
I've seen it happen, you know, and so, and that's good.

00:36:01.159 --> 00:36:03.668
I mean, I need to see that so I can go.

00:36:03.668 --> 00:36:03.949
Wow.

00:36:03.949 --> 00:36:10.018
There's an example of, you know, you know, Mary was, um, I don't know, she maybe had this illness or she had this belief that she couldn't do this thing.

00:36:10.018 --> 00:36:10.938
And now she's doing it.

00:36:10.938 --> 00:36:12.909
So, you know, I asked Mary, how did you do it?

00:36:12.909 --> 00:36:19.188
She goes, Oh, well, I just decided one day that, uh, you know, I wasn't going to let the illness, uh, or this obstacle get in my way.

00:36:19.188 --> 00:36:21.228
So I made a decision.

00:36:21.228 --> 00:36:23.869
I made like this definitive decision to do something about it.

00:36:23.929 --> 00:36:24.909
And she took action.

00:36:25.429 --> 00:36:42.818
You know, so you have to, um, you know, you'll get clarity on the things if you think about the things that, uh, you really want and, uh, move, you know, move past the, you know, the negativity, the limitations, which by the way, we're creating ourselves, um, it doesn't matter, uh, what somebody said to you in the past or what was done.

00:36:43.528 --> 00:36:53.878
Um, and we all hold, you know, we all hold on to those, um, old thoughts and the things that were said to us way back when, and it could be something that, um, you know, somebody had told you when you were a child that you're never going to be worth anything.

00:36:54.318 --> 00:36:57.929
You might have carried that belief with you, whether you're aware of it or not.

00:36:57.929 --> 00:37:02.469
So every, all of your actions were focused on that one thing, you know, I'm not worthy.

00:37:02.469 --> 00:37:03.048
I'm not worthy.

00:37:03.068 --> 00:37:05.403
So we, end up creating that kind of lifestyle.

00:37:05.974 --> 00:37:12.344
But, um, that's the thing is like, once you recognize the monster, once you see it for what it is, then you're like, ah, there it is.

00:37:12.773 --> 00:37:14.744
Um, I don't have to believe in that anymore.

00:37:14.764 --> 00:37:16.704
I can create something greater than myself.

00:37:16.824 --> 00:37:17.443
So, yeah.

00:37:18.833 --> 00:37:19.043
Yeah.

00:37:19.043 --> 00:37:20.184
And that's really powerful, isn't it?

00:37:21.324 --> 00:37:22.523
How do you think about that?

00:37:22.523 --> 00:37:35.213
Um, actually, no, let, let me change subjects altogether if I could, because, uh, there's something I, I suspect Kind of kindred spirits on, and that is shiny object syndrome.

00:37:36.213 --> 00:37:38.724
You seem like a very creative person.

00:37:38.744 --> 00:37:47.563
You, you, which means you, and correct me if I'm wrong, but you have a lot of ideas and probably like to work on a lot of things at once, which is the classic definition.

00:37:48.614 --> 00:37:48.923
Yeah.

00:37:49.804 --> 00:37:52.074
And that's the classic shiny object syndrome, right?

00:37:52.664 --> 00:37:54.653
How do you, uh, tackle that?

00:37:54.653 --> 00:37:59.114
Cause I know you've written about that quite a bit and I, I suffer from this big time.

00:37:59.114 --> 00:38:04.184
So could you talk about Sure thing.

00:38:04.184 --> 00:38:05.083
Yeah, it's one of the newer books.

00:38:05.083 --> 00:38:13.244
Actually, I just put out maybe like I think it was like last month Yeah, so shiny object syndrome is Yeah, it's just one of those things where yeah, you're right.

00:38:13.244 --> 00:38:14.474
I mean, I have lots of ideas.

00:38:14.474 --> 00:38:21.784
I I create I battle against the Temptation to create a new project every day.

00:38:22.094 --> 00:38:32.264
I have new ideas every day for new books and courses and businesses that I won't want to pursue and I What I do to handle that is like, okay, there's the new idea.

00:38:33.054 --> 00:38:51.094
I just write it down on a sticky note, and I have a journal where I just put all these, or you can put up on your wall or whatever, but I just will take that idea, I'll file it away somewhere, and later, I'll actually set aside time to go through all of the ideas that I've had in the last week or month, you know, so I think ideas, we need those ideas.

00:38:51.094 --> 00:38:51.684
They're great.

00:38:52.873 --> 00:39:00.344
Um, what happens is when you start to act on them, Impulsively, you know, like, Oh, there's a new idea for a new, whatever it might be a new business.

00:39:00.364 --> 00:39:01.443
I'm going to go start that today.

00:39:01.443 --> 00:39:06.054
And you start pursuing that forgetting that over here, you're still working on your other thing.

00:39:06.063 --> 00:39:10.523
And I will just abandon that thing in the middle and go start working on this other thing.

00:39:10.523 --> 00:39:13.414
So that's, that's, it is like, you know, I have to.

00:39:14.023 --> 00:39:15.074
Um, it's a discipline though.

00:39:15.094 --> 00:39:22.384
It's a discipline that you have to first of all recognize that, uh, you know, as a creative, my mind is going to do that all day long.

00:39:22.773 --> 00:39:27.293
When it does happen, I can just stop it and go, whoa, whoa, I'm not finished this over here yet.

00:39:27.684 --> 00:39:31.554
I'm just, you know, I'm going to write down this thought that I just had for this new thing.

00:39:31.983 --> 00:39:34.143
And, you know, we'll take a look at it later.

00:39:34.143 --> 00:39:42.824
And if it's something that I need to pursue, I might do that because I have, um, started or pursued many things where, yeah, I regretted it later on.

00:39:43.134 --> 00:39:54.364
Maybe I bought something I shouldn't have, or I invested in something, or I put time into something that I realized, um, if I just said, no, I could have, um, finished this thing over here.

00:39:54.603 --> 00:39:55.673
That is still half undone.

00:39:55.693 --> 00:40:02.724
And I have several projects that, I mean, right now that are, you know, suffering because I got distracted by other things.

00:40:03.599 --> 00:40:05.668
things in the last week, month, year.

00:40:06.018 --> 00:40:07.869
And so I've made a decision.

00:40:07.878 --> 00:40:13.958
And again, making a decision is really important that I'm going to finish this thing before I go pursue something else.

00:40:13.978 --> 00:40:15.318
And again, it's just a discipline.

00:40:15.318 --> 00:40:18.608
It's a practice that you have to, you have to become self aware.

00:40:18.608 --> 00:40:19.708
First of all, that it's happening.

00:40:19.708 --> 00:40:41.623
I think it happens to most people really, you know, and especially it happens when we become bored with something or when you're, if you're working on something and it becomes difficult, you know, I mean, When I was putting together my first, um, I mean, it still happens, but when I was putting together my first book or two, um, you know, it's just, there were times when, uh, that got really hard when I didn't believe that I was actually going to finish that project.

00:40:41.623 --> 00:40:50.853
So I go start a new one because starting something new, you know, taking that new journey, that's really exciting until the journey gets tough and then you're looking for a new path to follow.

00:40:50.853 --> 00:40:59.914
So I think that's, um, you know, it's, it seems to be, um, It's something that the, you know, the mind likes to move towards comfort, right?

00:40:59.914 --> 00:41:07.804
So as soon as something gets, uh, you know, you feel that discomfort or it's really, you know, you're, you're now on the hard path.

00:41:08.434 --> 00:41:17.023
We want to tend to, you know, back away from it because, but here's my advice to like it, like lean harder into it, go through that, uh, whenever that hard time is, like go.

00:41:18.634 --> 00:41:20.893
through it, push yourself through it, make a list.

00:41:20.954 --> 00:41:21.873
And I just have an action list.

00:41:21.873 --> 00:41:22.224
Okay.

00:41:22.393 --> 00:41:26.673
In order to get this thing done and stop chasing shiny objects, I've got to do this today.

00:41:26.873 --> 00:41:32.434
And I'll just focus on that one action thing so that I can move forward on my, um, you know, my project.

00:41:32.434 --> 00:41:32.673
Right.

00:41:32.704 --> 00:41:34.153
And, and I mean, you can use this for anything.

00:41:34.153 --> 00:41:39.403
Like, I mean, you might be, um, maybe you're, you know, going to the gym every day.

00:41:39.414 --> 00:41:58.454
Like you want to go to the gym and work out all the And, uh, you know, There's, uh, there are many days when I don't want to go to the gym, so I'll look for something else to do, you know, like something that's more fun, and then I end up, um, probably eating junk food instead of going to the gym, so I just break things down into small steps, you know, the small steps works, and it's like, okay, okay.

00:41:58.454 --> 00:41:58.489
Okay.

00:41:58.648 --> 00:42:00.849
In order to go to the gym, I have to pack my bag.

00:42:00.849 --> 00:42:06.958
I have to, you know, bike to the gym and I'm gonna, you know, park my bike and I just walk myself through that process.

00:42:06.978 --> 00:42:09.798
And that way, I can stay fixed on the goal for that day.

00:42:09.798 --> 00:42:16.929
Like the one thing that I want to do, I just stay on that path by knowing what the next step is that I need to take to move forward.

00:42:18.443 --> 00:42:23.853
Do you think it's important to just make it one thing per day, or can it be a couple?

00:42:26.114 --> 00:42:27.454
It can be a couple for sure.

00:42:27.474 --> 00:42:42.664
In the, yeah, the thing about to do lists is that, and I make them all the time, and I honestly think they're kind of like the devil's advocate, where I have this big to do list, and um, I make a list, actually my list is short, so I love, the to do list is great, just make it short.

00:42:42.664 --> 00:42:43.684
So I do three things.

00:42:43.684 --> 00:42:45.523
Three things that I want to do for today.

00:42:46.148 --> 00:42:50.028
they don't have to be related to the same project because to your point, actually, that's a good point.

00:42:50.028 --> 00:42:54.509
It's like, although I, I love the concept of doing one thing until finished.

00:42:54.938 --> 00:43:01.009
Well, if I'm building, I don't know, a website or writing a book, well, that's not going to be finished in a week or a day.

00:43:01.188 --> 00:43:04.559
So it's kind of like a longer project and it's going to take a few months.

00:43:04.869 --> 00:43:15.188
But the thing is, is like every day I'll choose one thing to work on for that project, which means I'm moving towards that, you know, and yes, I mean, We all have multiple projects, right?

00:43:15.188 --> 00:43:18.518
So, you know, and maybe one of your projects might be to get into great shape.

00:43:18.528 --> 00:43:27.628
Another project is to, uh, you know, build more income streams so you can invest money, things like this, like whatever your projects are, just, um, break that, break that down into smaller action steps.

00:43:27.898 --> 00:43:30.469
And that way just do one, you know, maybe two things a day.

00:43:31.434 --> 00:43:32.923
That's moving it towards that goal.

00:43:32.954 --> 00:43:39.233
And that way you're going to, um, be less likely to go into, you know, to fall into like the shiny object syndrome.

00:43:39.233 --> 00:43:42.034
I mean, there'll be other opportunities and things that pop up.

00:43:42.034 --> 00:43:43.204
And, and I think that's great.

00:43:43.204 --> 00:43:51.534
I mean, there will be opportunities that come up where it's like, You know, it might be something that you really want, but it's like, do you, I really need this at this time?

00:43:51.534 --> 00:43:53.164
Is this something I should pursue right now?

00:43:53.583 --> 00:43:56.733
And sometimes it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

00:43:56.914 --> 00:43:57.793
I don't remember who said this.

00:43:57.804 --> 00:44:04.543
It was Warren Buffett who said this, but I think he said, you know, lifetime opportunities pop up twice a month or something or twice a week or something like that.

00:44:04.844 --> 00:44:12.244
So I think he was alluding to shiny object syndrome where, you know, you're going to be getting, there will be other opportunities, but you do have to, you know, you can't.

00:44:12.753 --> 00:44:14.063
Sue them all, obviously.

00:44:14.063 --> 00:44:14.293
Right.

00:44:14.293 --> 00:44:16.704
So, yeah, but yeah, that's a great question.

00:44:17.074 --> 00:44:17.423
Yeah.

00:44:18.063 --> 00:44:26.684
You know, when I first got started in real estate, uh, as an investor, I had a mentor who told me the deal of a lifetime comes by once a week.

00:44:27.554 --> 00:44:29.293
So, which speaks to that.

00:44:29.313 --> 00:44:32.353
And I think that's really good.

00:44:32.733 --> 00:44:40.804
But, um, well, you know, we, we're going to have to have you back on because you, we didn't even start to scratch the surface of all of the stuff you write about.

00:44:41.224 --> 00:44:47.563
Uh, but it's right up our alley, like we mentioned, but if, if you're up for it, I'd love to have you back on at some point.

00:44:48.673 --> 00:44:50.224
Sure, yeah, we were just getting going.

00:44:50.483 --> 00:44:51.583
I know, I know.

00:44:51.884 --> 00:44:58.351
Maybe I need to make the podcast longer, but, uh, we are about at that point where we should get into our world famous Wayfinder 4.

00:44:58.351 --> 00:44:58.358
Okay.

00:44:58.518 --> 00:45:03.478
And since you're in Japan, that makes us, you know, world famous now since we're in two other parts of the world.

00:45:04.929 --> 00:45:06.659
What part, what time is it over there by the way?

00:45:06.728 --> 00:45:07.048
Love it.

00:45:09.764 --> 00:45:10.893
It is almost 8 a.

00:45:10.893 --> 00:45:11.123
m.

00:45:11.134 --> 00:45:11.873
on Wednesday.

00:45:11.914 --> 00:45:12.563
Is it Thursday?

00:45:12.563 --> 00:45:13.443
Yeah, Thursday morning.

00:45:13.554 --> 00:45:13.844
Yes.

00:45:13.884 --> 00:45:14.224
Okay.

00:45:14.364 --> 00:45:14.724
All right.

00:45:14.994 --> 00:45:35.813
Oh, so, you know what the winning look if you're yeah Well, it's almost it's only Wednesday afternoon here So, you know what tonight's lottery winning lottery ticket numbers are if you could let us let me know after I got my numbers Yeah, I already got the ticket So Scott What is a hack that you use?

00:45:38.503 --> 00:45:47.784
So a hack that I use, um, I may have mentioned several of them already, but, uh, if it's a productivity hack, so one of the hacks that I use is, um, uh, yeah, just having like an evening routine.

00:45:47.784 --> 00:45:47.963
Right?

00:45:47.963 --> 00:45:50.974
So my evening routine is to get clear on what I want to do for the next day.

00:45:51.244 --> 00:45:56.684
And so again, I will write down those three things that I just mentioned previously that I want to do for the next day.

00:45:56.914 --> 00:45:59.344
My hack is to put those on paper.

00:45:59.563 --> 00:46:02.094
again, before I go to bed, I'll spend 10, 15 minutes.

00:46:02.103 --> 00:46:04.733
And again, that just gets me, you know, I believe in clarity.

00:46:04.773 --> 00:46:05.594
I love clarity.

00:46:06.043 --> 00:46:06.594
Not every day.

00:46:06.594 --> 00:46:07.784
I don't have clarity every day.

00:46:07.793 --> 00:46:15.634
And the reason is like when I don't, it's because, oh yeah, I forgot to do that thing, you know, which is just get clear on like, you know, you know what your goal is.

00:46:15.764 --> 00:46:17.083
Now you've got your action steps.

00:46:17.403 --> 00:46:18.253
Now you have to do.

00:46:18.739 --> 00:46:24.469
Uh, you know, every night for a few minutes, just write down three things, maybe it's one thing, you know, one, two, three things.

00:46:24.469 --> 00:46:28.978
I think it's good not to make a big to do list because, um, I find that's a very overwhelming.

00:46:29.338 --> 00:46:34.429
So that's just one of my hacks for, you know, like knowing how it is that I want to show up in the world the next day.

00:46:35.568 --> 00:46:35.978
Excellent.

00:46:37.128 --> 00:46:41.028
Uh, you know, we've had a guest who's actually a friend of mine from a mastermind group.

00:46:41.028 --> 00:46:43.829
I belong to his name is Neil Schwepp, and he wrote this journal.

00:46:44.349 --> 00:46:45.179
I happen to keep it.

00:46:46.563 --> 00:47:01.614
I happen to bring it, brought it, you know, to my desk today, but, uh, it's called Results Over Excuses, and he, um, every day, in there, just a couple of things, uh, starts the night before, he just wants you to write three things that you're gonna do the next day.

00:47:02.043 --> 00:47:06.143
And then, you know, that's how he starts, you know, that journal.

00:47:06.173 --> 00:47:08.244
So I do think there is something to that.

00:47:08.498 --> 00:47:09.728
the evening routine as well.

00:47:09.918 --> 00:47:14.239
We talked so much about the morning routine, but, uh, I thought that was pretty good.

00:47:15.028 --> 00:47:16.409
So how about a favorite?

00:47:19.079 --> 00:47:24.289
Could be a book, a TV show, movie, show, hobby?

00:47:25.429 --> 00:47:25.668
Yep.

00:47:25.679 --> 00:47:26.548
Lots of favorite things.

00:47:26.559 --> 00:47:32.739
I would say, uh, probably one of my favorite books right now, um, I'm reading, uh, Mind Magic.

00:47:32.759 --> 00:47:36.333
So I have a lot of books, of course, you know, I could probably Pull it from a whole bunch of them.

00:47:36.333 --> 00:47:39.653
But, uh, yeah, Mind Magic is, uh, very powerful.

00:47:39.653 --> 00:47:44.014
It was written by the same author who wrote Into the Magic Shop.

00:47:44.054 --> 00:47:46.083
I definitely recommend one or both of those books.

00:47:46.884 --> 00:47:54.563
It's all about, uh, going up in the world and tapping into your inner magic to manifest the life that you want.

00:47:54.574 --> 00:47:56.134
So there's the word again, manifestation.

00:47:56.733 --> 00:47:59.213
Um, you know, Creating a life that you want through magic.

00:47:59.213 --> 00:48:01.773
You know, he gets into his, he was a neuroscientist.

00:48:01.773 --> 00:48:01.773
Right.

00:48:01.773 --> 00:48:04.143
So, and, uh, so he really gets into that a lot in the book.

00:48:04.414 --> 00:48:12.193
I'm only halfway through the book, but I've read into the magic shop where actually that can't maybe five or six years ago, but yeah, those books are game changers.

00:48:12.204 --> 00:48:15.244
So, um, at another 20 minutes, I go through my.

00:48:16.018 --> 00:48:25.318
My whole book collection of all the other books I recommend, but if you're into productivity or you want to, you want to just like, uh, like I already mentioned Dan Martell's Buy Back Your Time.

00:48:25.329 --> 00:48:26.298
Love that book.

00:48:26.748 --> 00:48:30.039
Um, it's certainly helped me in my life and my business.

00:48:30.909 --> 00:48:31.349
Excellent.

00:48:32.219 --> 00:48:35.349
Um, how about a piece of advice for your younger self?

00:48:36.349 --> 00:48:37.179
For my younger self?

00:48:37.898 --> 00:48:40.898
Uh, yeah, the piece of advice for my younger self is, um, you know, just be yourself.

00:48:41.059 --> 00:48:43.869
keep going because, um, it gets better, you know, don't give up.

00:48:43.869 --> 00:48:47.358
And I think my younger self was never somebody who would have given up anyway.

00:48:47.829 --> 00:48:51.378
But, you know, there are moments when I just, I needed to hear that from somebody, I think.

00:48:51.378 --> 00:48:57.679
So, you know, like there's a, you know, if you, you know, if you keep pushing forward, great things are going to happen.

00:48:57.789 --> 00:49:03.699
So, but I always believe that to a certain extent, I think, uh, you know, but, uh, yeah, I do.

00:49:03.778 --> 00:49:15.023
And by the way, just a quick little visualization practice that I do, I do visualize myself now going back in time Younger self and having that conversation, you know, what is that conversation?

00:49:15.034 --> 00:49:18.023
How would you, what would you talk about to your, your younger self?

00:49:18.023 --> 00:49:18.324
Yeah.

00:49:18.324 --> 00:49:21.324
Cause I think it's important to connect with that, uh, that person.

00:49:23.204 --> 00:49:23.614
Okay.

00:49:24.233 --> 00:49:24.623
I love that.

00:49:24.623 --> 00:49:32.063
I never heard that, but I, I guess in, I know in like trauma, uh, relief, that's something that is often done, right.

00:49:32.114 --> 00:49:37.543
Identify, you know, the inner child and go there and talk to him and say, it's okay, kind of thing.

00:49:37.543 --> 00:49:38.833
So that's, that's interesting.

00:49:38.833 --> 00:49:39.074
Yeah.

00:49:39.153 --> 00:49:39.594
Yeah.

00:49:41.329 --> 00:49:42.509
Well, here's just one more.

00:49:42.588 --> 00:49:43.688
I'll add one more thing to that.

00:49:43.728 --> 00:49:44.659
There's that piece of it.

00:49:44.898 --> 00:49:49.449
Now, imagine yourself right now and your future self is coming back to have a conversation with you.

00:49:49.588 --> 00:49:50.708
What would that look like?

00:49:50.929 --> 00:49:51.208
Yeah.

00:49:51.248 --> 00:50:02.318
That conversation is actually something I'm leaning more into these days because I think that whatever actions that I'm taking today, my future self is coming back to thank me for those things.

00:50:02.608 --> 00:50:10.268
So I visualize my future self 20, 30 years in the future coming back and maybe 10 years, you know, coming back to meet you right now.

00:50:10.688 --> 00:50:13.159
And, uh, you know, they're saying, wow, you know, I'm so glad the.

00:50:14.179 --> 00:50:22.778
You, you know, you changed, you changed the way that you're doing this thing or you, you know, like whatever it is that you're working on right now, that is your future.

00:50:22.778 --> 00:50:28.199
You know, your, the future is not like it's something that's happening, you know, later on today or tomorrow or next week.

00:50:28.318 --> 00:50:30.099
It's right now, you know, so.

00:50:30.539 --> 00:50:31.009
That's right.

00:50:31.548 --> 00:50:33.179
Yeah, no, that, that's really powerful.

00:50:33.179 --> 00:50:35.548
I find myself saying that a lot more now.

00:50:35.548 --> 00:50:39.998
I had a guest on, uh, about a year ago now, a guy named Jamie Gruber.

00:50:40.119 --> 00:50:40.509
He just.

00:50:40.838 --> 00:50:48.039
Flipped that question on its head to me and told me exactly that, Hey, I'd like to answer it is what will my 80 year old self be telling me to do now?

00:50:48.518 --> 00:50:50.219
And that was the first time I heard that.

00:50:50.219 --> 00:50:52.478
And it was, I found that to be very profound.

00:50:52.798 --> 00:51:01.518
And now I've had conversations with folks who are in their eighties and are complete badasses and, and they're just thinking, Hey, I'm just getting started.

00:51:01.518 --> 00:51:02.869
I'm going to live to 120.

00:51:03.088 --> 00:51:04.289
Had one gentleman tell me that.

00:51:04.309 --> 00:51:05.688
And I was like, Oh wow.

00:51:05.878 --> 00:51:09.559
And so then when you really start to think about it in that case, it just.

00:51:09.793 --> 00:51:10.664
Amazing, right?

00:51:10.693 --> 00:51:14.844
Like, we still have a shot at just compounding so much success, right?

00:51:14.884 --> 00:51:17.364
Like, and, and, uh, and achievement.

00:51:17.543 --> 00:51:18.463
It's wild.

00:51:19.264 --> 00:51:30.514
What, um, what about, let you choose this last one, uh, a limiting belief, perhaps that you've had or how to overcome it, or a big opportunity?

00:51:30.943 --> 00:51:34.134
That you're pursuing, or you see out there in the world.

00:51:34.224 --> 00:51:36.204
Mm hmm.

00:51:36.903 --> 00:51:37.253
Okay.

00:51:37.273 --> 00:51:43.034
Well, a limiting belief that I've had to overcome is I'm not enough, you know, um, still working at that every day.

00:51:43.034 --> 00:51:45.213
I think it's something you have to work at again and again and again.

00:51:45.554 --> 00:51:53.023
Comes back to the, you know, the lack mindset, scarcity mindset, just, um, tackling that every day, you know?

00:51:53.403 --> 00:51:55.063
So there's that.

00:51:55.094 --> 00:52:01.693
Uh, the, um, the second thing you mentioned though, like, yeah, that's, uh, the big opportunity that I'm pursuing is, uh, I want.

00:52:02.318 --> 00:52:26.079
To get onto big stages and talk to millions of people and just, um, you know, um, deliver my frameworks and, uh, share with people the, uh, you know, the, the pathway, you know, the path that they can build to have that greatest, that, that great life that, uh, a lot of people aren't even aware, I think, of the potential, the true potential that we have.

00:52:26.548 --> 00:52:29.494
Like, my message is that, It's, it's untapped.

00:52:29.494 --> 00:52:30.293
It's unlimited.

00:52:30.304 --> 00:52:39.233
You know, you are limitless and I just want to get there out there into, uh, in front of the many and, um, share the message, you know, share the dream.

00:52:39.833 --> 00:52:46.844
And, um, you know, I, um, I'm doing that I think now with, uh, you know, doing interviews and podcast interviews and everything, and that's great.

00:52:47.003 --> 00:52:53.784
But eventually I'm going to the big stage where I'm really excited to, uh, you know, building out that opportunity for the near future.

00:52:53.793 --> 00:52:53.903
So.

00:52:54.673 --> 00:52:55.403
Yeah, I love that.

00:52:55.923 --> 00:52:58.244
Yeah, thank you for, for being here and doing that with us.

00:52:58.244 --> 00:53:01.483
That was actually one of our original intentions with the Wayfinder show.

00:53:01.934 --> 00:53:13.494
Um, I, I thought what better way to inspire people, you know, uh, uh, than to get other people who, who have done it, you know, and share their stories with, with everybody.

00:53:14.083 --> 00:53:16.963
And hopefully, uh, people will listen and, and get something out of it.

00:53:18.083 --> 00:53:19.543
So what about a show?

00:53:19.864 --> 00:53:20.373
It's been great.

00:53:20.673 --> 00:53:21.014
Yeah.

00:53:21.014 --> 00:53:21.873
Thank you for being here.

00:53:21.873 --> 00:53:37.994
And I mean it when I say we should I'd love to do a repeat Maybe a few times because write quite and you're writing even more so and it's right up our alley So Scott if people want to know a little bit more about you, maybe where to find your books and such Where can we what can we find you?

00:53:39.329 --> 00:53:39.918
Absolutely.

00:53:39.918 --> 00:53:42.108
So they can visit us at ScottAllenBooks.

00:53:42.139 --> 00:53:51.048
com and I also have a newsletter called The Daily Mentor and they can subscribe for that.

00:53:51.068 --> 00:53:52.548
We can put the links in the show later.

00:53:52.588 --> 00:53:59.119
And then, um, they can go to, probably go to YouTube and they can find a lot of interviews on there or probably just Google.

00:53:59.298 --> 00:54:03.364
And of course we have, um, Just Google, Scott Allen interviews or Scott Allen.

00:54:03.393 --> 00:54:05.014
Scott, uh, Scott Allen books or author.

00:54:05.494 --> 00:54:08.684
And of course we have Amazon where they tend to, they, they sell everything on there.

00:54:08.684 --> 00:54:10.273
So you can always find the books on there as well.

00:54:10.278 --> 00:54:10.608
That's right.

00:54:11.228 --> 00:54:15.289
Is the, the daily mentor, How, how do you sign up for that?

00:54:16.708 --> 00:54:20.458
Yeah, I can, um, send you the, link you can put it in the show notes if you want to.

00:54:20.489 --> 00:54:20.998
Oh, perfect.

00:54:21.088 --> 00:54:24.599
So yeah, we're just, we're actually just in the process of building out a landing page for that, so.

00:54:24.659 --> 00:54:24.898
Okay.

00:54:24.949 --> 00:54:28.278
because we, we switch over from our, our software, so yeah, we've got a new page.

00:54:28.278 --> 00:54:33.719
It's gonna be ready next day or so, so I can send that link over to you and people can just, find that in the show notes if that's okay.

00:54:34.483 --> 00:54:35.003
that's great.

00:54:35.014 --> 00:54:35.793
Thank you so much.

00:54:36.143 --> 00:54:37.673
Well, Scott, it's been a real joy.

00:54:38.074 --> 00:54:42.824
like I said, you're, you're, you're pretty much are an expert in everything that we'd like to talk about here.

00:54:42.824 --> 00:54:43.673
we'd to do it again.

00:54:44.393 --> 00:54:45.903
So thanks for being here.

00:54:50.934 --> 00:54:52.693
