In this episode Luis interviews Efren A. Delgado, a former FBI Special Agent about his new book "The Opposite is True: Discover Your Unexpected Enemies, Allies & Purpose Through the Eyes of Counterintuitive Psychology". Efren discusses the concept of thinking like a 'bad guy' in order to be a 'good guy'. He explains that being a good person takes effort and selflessness, while bad people give in to their selfishness. Delgado emphasizes the importance of balance and making conscious choices to maintain a soft heart while protecting oneself and others. He also discusses the need to surround oneself with like-minded individuals who push and support personal growth. Delgado explores the counterintuitive patterns of human behavior and the importance of empathy in understanding others. They discuss concept of sophisticated empathy, understanding oneself and others. He explains that the bad guys are often cowards who fear looking inward at their flaws and weaknesses, while the good people make themselves vulnerable and help others. They emphasize that making oneself vulnerable actually makes them stronger. He also talks about the choice between resilience, grit, and strength, or weakness, envy, apathy, and blame. He commends the listeners who are trying their best to be good and make a positive impact in the world.
